How was the weekend? I hope you had time to rest and relax. We are starting June. This is almost done. We just need a last push. Go for it!

¿Qué tal el fin de semana? Espero que tuviérais tiempo de relajaros y descansar. Estamos empezando junio. Esto está casi hecho ya. Necesitamos un último empujón. ¡A por ello!

Today is Monday, so I have Science, English and ARTS with THIRD GRADE B. Third grade A is ENGLISH FREE today. 
Hoy es lunes, así que tengo Ciencias, Inglés y ARTS con TERCERO B. Tercero A está libre de inglés hoy.

We have learning about the Moon and its phases. Now I would like to continue with the Moon tides. Tides means "mareas" in Spanish. But it is not about getting dizzy. It is about the Sea. 

Hemos estado aprendiendo sobre la Luna y sus Fases. Ahora, me gustaría continuar con las mareas lunares. "Tides" significa "mareas" pero no, del verbo marearse, si no, del MAR.

The Moon and the Earth's tides:

The Earth and the Moon attract each other because of a force called GRAVITY. This force pulls us towards the Earth. Big objects have more gravity than small ones.

The Moon's gravity makes the Earth's water move. This creates TIDES. When the Moon is close to the Earth, there is high tide. When it's far from the Earth, there is low tide.

"La Tierra y la Luna se atraen debido a la fuerza de Gravedad. Esta fuerza empuja y atrae todo hacia la Tierra. Los objetos más grandes tienen mayor gravedad que los pequeños. La gravedad de la Luna hace que el agua de la Tierra se mueva. Esto crea las MAREAS. Cuando la Luna está más cerca de la Tierra, hay MAREA ALTA. Cuando la Luna está más alejada de la Tierra, hay MAREA BAJA"

This is the end of this part of the Unit. We are going to do a video review to make sure that we understood most of it before going on.
